LET EACH KID HAVE A JAR (I USE 32 OZ) AND OWN FOOD COLORING
INGREDIENTS
4 CUPS SUGAR
1 CUP WATER
FOOD COLORING
CLEAN GLASS JAR
STRING CUT INTO 6 INCH LENGTH
(DENTAL FLOSS ALSO CAN BE USED)
( SKEWERS CAN BE USED BUT NEED TO TIE OFF )
PENCIL
FLAVORING SUCH AS LICORICE OR ROOT BEER CAN ALSO BE ADDED A DROP OR SO
DIRECTIONS
IN A MEDIUM SAUCE PAN- DO NOT BOIL
HEAT 2 CUPS OF THE SUGAR AND WATER
STIR UNTIL SUGAR IS DISSOLVED
THEN GRADUALLY ADD REST OF SUGAR STIR TILL DISSOLVED
POUR INTO JARS
AND FOOD COLORING OF CHOICE A DROP OR SO STIR TIE
THE STRING OR SKEWERS TO PENCIL SUSPEND OVER TOP OF JAR
MAKE SURE THEY ARE APART FROM EACH OTHER
PLACE TIN FOIL LOOSELY SO NO DIRT OR DUST GETS IN PAPER TOWEL WILL DO TO
CRYSTALS SUITABLE TO EAT WILL START TO FORM
IN A HOUR AND CONTINUE FOR SEVERAL DAYS TILL WATER EVAPORATES
PIECES CAN BE BROKEN OFF AND EATEN AFTER 1 HOUR
BUT HOLD OUT FOR THE BIGGER ONES
