THESE ARE MADE FROM A OLD HUNGARIAN RECIPE
MAKES 2 DOZEN
INGREDIENTS
2 - 8 OUNCE PACKAGES OF CREAM CHEESE
2 CUPS OF FLOUR
1 CUP OF BUTTER
1 ( 8 OUNCE ) JAR OF PRUNE JAM
DIRECTIONS
CREAM TOGETHER THE CREAM CHEESE AND BUTTER
TO THIS ADD THE FLOUR IN SMALL PORTIONS BY HAND
WHEN IT COMES TOGETHER, TURN OVER ON A LIGHTLY FLOURED
SURFACE AND ADD THE REST OF THE FLOUR TO FORM A DOUGH
(IT WILL BE SOFT BUT SHOULD BE SMOOTH)
REFRIGERATE FOR A HOUR
ROLL OUT TO ABOUT A 1/4 INCH THICK ON A FLOURED SURFACE
CUT INTO SQUARES ABOUT 2 X 2
FILL CENTER WITH 1/4 TEASPOONS OF THE LEKVAR
BRING TOGETHER OPPOSITE CORNERS AND PINCH TOGETHER
BAKE ON A LIGHTLY GREASED COOKIE SHEET FOR 15 - 20 MINUTES
UNTIL LITE GOLDEN AT 350 F
WHILE STILL WARM ROLL IN POWERED SUGAR AND LET COOL
ONCE COOLED ROLL IN POWERED SUGAR AGAIN
YOU CAN USE ANY FLAVOR LEKVAR OR ALMOND PASTE
AS LONG AS ITS THICK SO IT DON'T RUN WHILE BAKING
